I have naturally dark dark brown hair close to black and I have had it almost platinum blonde. Not so, you only need to bleach it once and use other techniques from there. Also, if you do go to a beauty salon and the person say's they don't recommend going from dark to blonde go somewhere else that is usually a sign of inexperience and lack of technique any experienced color expert will gladly do it when they have done it many times.
