Its possible but not always. It depends on how much of your moms hair genes you got. You might get thick hair as you age it really is chance. If you wanted to thin your hair now you could try a couple of thinning shampoos. Also you can get "de-gunking" hair shampoo that will take off a lot of added chemicals and grease that comes over time. Another option would be to ask your hair stylist if you could get your hair thinned and they can take a razor type tool and get a couple layers taking off for less volume.
